Over the past few weeks, Peetz boys basketball has been finding ways to win through its tough schedule.

On Dec. 10, the Bulldogs hosted a team from Nebraska, Banner County, and promptly sent it back home with a 60-21 final. It seems the Bulldogs utilized the momentum they gained from that win — despite the long break that followed — and carried it into an even bigger victory at Weldon Valley last Friday, which saw a 65-34 final score.

The Bulldogs came out firing on all cylinders through the first quarter, netting 24 points while holding the Warriors to just six points. They cooled off throughout the rest of the contest, but still managed to outscore Weldon Valley in two of the next three quarters before running away with victory.

Freshman Rhyder Bayne rose to the occasion with 19 points and added three assists. Junior Noah Naegele complemented his performance with 13 points and six steals of his own as the Bulldogs shared the rebounding responsibility nicely.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-3 with the win, but immediately followed it up with a loss to a good Merino team. They’ll now turn their attention toward Arickaree on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
