Mr. Gentry

Mr. Gentry was raised in Sterling Colorado until his sophomore year of high school.  He attended Northeastern Junior College and Colorado State University, earning his Bachelors in Agriculture Education.  He taught in Cortez and Castle Rock CO prior to joining the US Army and serving a tour in Iraq and Afghanistan as an Animal Health Care SPecialist.  After returning to the U.S Mr Gentry was employed in the oil and gas industry both domestically and in Saudi.  He returned to teaching in 2017 in Brighton, and we are happy to have him in Peetz!

Mr. Stumpf

Social Studies

I am Colbey Stumpf. This semester I am a student teacher with Brian Kurz. I grew up in Iliff, Colorado and went to Caliche High School. After graduating high school, I attended Northeast Junior College for one year. Upon receiving my Associates degree, I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado to major in history education. On my time off, I enjoy playing sports including basketball, football, and golf. I am also an avid hunter and I enjoy travelling. I am looking forward to being part of the Peetz community and helping my students grow, both personally and academically.

Mrs. Walters

7 - 12 English

I’m Jacqui Walters, the new English Language Arts Teacher. I grew up in the North East of England. My hometown, Selby, is not too dissimilar to that of Sterling. Rural and industrial. If you’re wondering what brought me to Colorado -  it was my husband. He was born and raised in Sterling. We live about 14 miles northwest of Sterling on a non working farm. We have four children, our little ones are 5 and 8. They are very excited to start school again and so am I!  We also have three dogs, two of which are English Bulldogs.

All of my education was gained in British schools. I have a mixture of AS/A Levels from Selby College in: English Literature, English Language, Psychology, Political History, and Ancient History. I also have a foundation degree in Business and Public Relations from Leeds Beckett University and more recently I have gained my BA Hons in English Literature from The Open University.

I love travelling and learning about different cultures. It is harder when you have children, but we still try to make it work. We do enjoy fishing and enjoy spending time at the lake, so we try to do that as frequently as possible.

This will be my first time teaching and I am very excited about getting to know everyone within the Peetz family!
